Boston Blotter: Basketball Star Killed in Springfield
--The captain of a high-school basketball team was gunned down on the streets of Springfield early this morning. [AP/Boston Herald]

--Some allegedly shady lawyers and mortgage brokers were charged yesterday for inflating home prices and landing a ridiculous $10.6 million in loans. [Boston Globe]
--Remember that 41-year-old who allegedly had a bunch of bombs in his East Bridgewater home? His momma is telling the press that he was "making fireworks." [Boston Herald]
--The "Finest Cuts" barbershop at Grove Hall is indeed fine, but not because of its haircuts. The BPD arrested three men involved with a drug deal yesterday. One of those arrested had a prodigious amount of drugs in his car: 870 grams of coke and 60 bags of pot. Alas, we didn't see a mugshot, but we bet their hair was immaculate. [BPD News]
