The Cape Cod Times is reporting that Massachusetts senator Ted Kennedy fell ill this morning at the Kennedy compound and was "rushed" to the hospital.

First he went to the Cape Cod Hospital, but then he was taken by helicopter to Mass General.

He is 76 years old. He had surgery on an artery in his neck last year, but it is not clear if his current trip to the hospital is related to that past problem. We'd normally make a joke about how he probably started orating over his morning danish, which caused his internal organs to get worked up, but we'll just wish him well.
