Sox Get Greener
We wrote on the Red Sox recycling jerseys about a month ago, and now the team is taking green to a new level with some hot new solar panels. The panels went into effect today, and will help heat water used throughout the park. The panels are expected to replace 37% of the gas formerly used to heat water, eliminating 18 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
This isn't the first effort the Sox have made to green up their home; the team was recognized by the EPA with an Environmental Merit Award for green efforts including recycling initiatives and energy efficient lighting. The list of reasons to love the Sox just keeps growing!
