Sports Redux: The Bartolo Colon Comeback Tour

Sox HatsThe one they call King Felix had his best game against the Sox last year, that one hitter that ruined the Fenway debut of Dice K. One can only assume that last night was pay back when the Sox beat the Mariners, 5 -3, ending their seven away game losing streak. The 22 year old ace, Felix Hernandez was visibly frustrated last night going 7.2 innings with seven hits, five strike outs, five walks, one balk and gave up a homerun in the top of the 4th to David Ortiz.

The Bartolo Colon Comeback Tour is so far a success. Colon was able to get the win last night and went for seven innings, five hits, striking out four, walking one and keeping his ERA at 2.25. We don’t want to get our hopes up, but we’re happy with what we’re seeing. Highlight to last night’s game was the tremendous catch by Ichiro robbing of Jason Varitek of a homerun. The catch was better than the ghetto recording job this guy did for youtube, but for those of you who missed it: Enjoy!

As for the Celtics, they fell back into old form of losing away. Well, atleast they got one road win. The Pistons beat the C’s 94 -75. The series is now tied 2 -2 and coming back to the Garden. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett both score 16 in last night’s game, while Richard Hamilton scored 20 and Antonio McDyess got 24 points in the game. One positive outcome from last night was the C’s work guarding Chauncey Billups, who only hit one three pointer last night.

Tonight: The C’s are off and on their way home and the Red Sox are still in Seattle, sending Matsuzaka to the mound.

That was a tremendous catch but Ichiro didn't rob him of a home run. It wasn't over the wall ...
