Boston Blotter: Murder Suspect Released by BPD

102207-party-police.jpg-- Remember Tormu Prall, the man on the lam from an alleged murder in New Jersey whom Boston police suspected might be in South Boston? It turns out, the BPD might have put him there. Boston police mistakenly released the 35-year-old Trenton man after arresting him on public drinking charges. The processing time for Prall's fingerprints -- four hours -- exceeded the amount of time that a Municipal Court judge would allow the BPD to hold the man, and he was set free. Prall is accused of the 2007 murder of his brother and an attempted murder of a police officer in 2006. [Globe]

-- A 13-year-old boy pulled a knife on his teacher at Fuller Middle School in Framingham, police say. The boy, who is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a knife and possession of a dangerous weapon, allegedly hoped to rob his teacher so that he could buy Grand Theft Auto. -- A Framingham man was arrested Wednesday morning on charges that he punched, kicked, choked, and poured boiling water on his wife. The suspect, 22, faces charges of attempted murder, three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery and intimidation of a witness. [MetroWestDailyNews]

-- A sixth, and final, suspect was arrested in the 2007 murder of Terrance Jacobs, who was beaten and stabbed to death. Pedro Ortiz, 28, of Boston, was arrested at his apartment in Lynn. [BPDNews]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
