In lieu of running a photo today, we wanted to share with you some exciting news. Bostonist will be hosting the first ever Photo of the Day Photography Show, which will be a part of a Charity Event to benefit the Jimmy Fund that we are holding in early July. In preparation for the show, we wanted to invite all of our PotD contributors, both seasoned and new, to submit works that they would like to be considered to for the show.

The photos will be offered for sale with 100% of the profits donated to benefit the Jimmy Fund. This is important to note as all artists will have to pay the cost of mounting and framing their pictures and consider that cost a charity donation. Although you will receive no monetary compensation, this will be a great opportunity to have your work displayed in a legitimate show and be viewed by a large audience.

All photos submitted will be judged by the entirety of the Bostonist staff, and the chosen photos will be displayed prominently at the event which the artists will of course be invited to attend. Keep in mind that as this is a Bostonist event we will choose photos that relate to Boston in some way.

All submissions should be sent to photo@bostonist.com. There will also be an announcement made at the Bostonist Flickr Group, and any questions can be directed to the above email address as well. Depending on the number of entries received there could be a possibility of artists showing more than one photo, so feel free to send a few shots for consideration. We will of course keep you all informed of further details as they become available.

This is an exciting opportunity for both the blog and our talented photogs to grow together and we absolutely cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
