Local event-planning wunderkind Matt Sisto is skippin' town (we won't say where to, but we bet you can guess), and he's celebrating with a one-of-a-kind (or two-of-a-kind, since he threw one last year) dance party blowout at the Paradise tomorrow night. The Phoenix has a nice (if groaningly titled) interview with Sisto in which he explains the show's cover charge, which will go toward art grants: “I love getting money for people. It’s left over from punk, this idea that money is bad—but people need it to make art, and there’s no money from the city, so it’s got to come from all of us.” The 'nix also quotes Sisto's declaration that giving art grants is “way better than running to put money down on a new Volvo or something." We have to agree with him there.
LDW, which is shaping up to be the ultimate scenester dance party, will feature the following DJs: Lone Wolf (Gold Chain) with Bone Zone (live), Etan (Basstown) Claude Money (Soul Touch), Dan Shea (Bodies of Water Arts & Crafts) Matt Sisto (Lemmingtrail), Joseph Colbourne (Color) Baltimoroder (Hearthrob), Gross Anatomy DJs, Mark Pearson (Neptune), Brenden Wesley (Akult at Goodlife). For your ocular entertainment, VJs Morgan Harary (Bloodsugar), Josh Randall (Robotkid), and Michael Savant will also project their creations around the 'dise.
They say it's a party and a disco. We remain wary of potential fooling around.
