Democratic State Senator Jim Marzilli of Arlington was arrested in Lowell last night for allegedly groping a woman on park bench. Senator Marzilli is no stranger to controversy, he was absolved of inappropriately touching a woman after driving her home from a political fund-raiser on April 9th.

It was released this morning that after allegedly touching the woman in Lowell the Senator ran from Police, was threatened with pepper spray, begin crying, and when questioned gave his name as Martin Walsh. Whoa whoa whoa, say what? Martin Walsh just happens to be a State Representative out of Dorchester. Hey, he could have at least used the name of a Republican!

A second woman is also now alleging that a man matching the Senator's description made lewd comments to her Tuesday afternoon in the same Lowell park. Marzilli's lawyer is calling the charges ridiculous.

It's safe to say that the Senator's political career is close to, or at least should be, over. Keep an eye on Bostonist for any further developments.
