Bostonist Style: Cosmoholics Anonymous

Every once and a while, the Bostonist Fashionistas come across something that we just have to share with the public. We’ve recently fallen in love, and we’re not afraid to admit it--we’ve turned into Cosmoholics!

Swampscott’s own Jody Cohen has just released a line of lip gloss perfection, called Cosmoholic, and we can’t imagine how we’ve lived without these glosses for this long! A make-up artist by trade, Cohn recently decided to go into business for herself. Her industry knowledge has helped her make a lip gloss that doesn’t make us feel like we need a crowbar to separate our lips after wearing it for a short amount of time. We found the liquid loveliness in a local boutique and picked up a few different colors on a whim. It was the best decision we’ve made in quite some time!

And we’re not the only ones who feel this way about the gloss. Cosmoholic will be featured in upcoming issues of OK! Magazine and STAR, and even Boston Magazine is preaching the gospel of Cosmoholic. A few weeks ago, the upscale Henri Bendel’s started selling Cohen’s creations, and they had a hard time keeping the gloss in stock during a recent trunk show.

Cosmoholic will be opening an online store soon, but you can currently find them in numerous stores throughout Boston. The luscious lip glosses go for $20.00 each. There’s a rumor going around that we will be seeing new shades in the near future, and we can’t wait for our next fix! Get them while you can, ladies! But save us a few tubes of Gold Digger and Prudish Pink while you're at it--pretty please?

Okay, Style thread hijack!

I detest the American Apparel swim suits. In fact, with a few exceptions, I find most of the 'styled'-type clothes they put out to be really, really horrid looking, reflecting a kind of retrograde style nostalgia that gives me the howling fantods.

Got no beef with the t-shirts, though, and I will not make my statement on the style of their advertisements at this time.
