Sports Redux: Felix Loves Fenway

redsoxlogo.JPG
Felix Hernandez loves Fenway. The Venezuelan born pitcher seems at home here and it showed last night. The 4 game losing streak the Mariners was put on hold when they beat the Red Sox last night, 8 -0. Bartolo Colon, who was going for his fourth win, committed two errors last night and gave up six runs in five innings of work.

It was a quite night at Friday, no fights in the dugout and Coco wasn’t charging the mound getting ready to scrap. But due to the events of Thursday night, there were suspensions handed out; three of them going to members of the Red Sox . Coco Crisp received a seven game suspension, he’s already started the appeals process since they are short staffed and Jacoby Ellsbury is day to day with a sprained wrist. Brandon Moss was brought up from Pawtucket to help out now.

Jon Lester received a five game suspension and has started serving it. So he’ll next start will be pushed back one day, since they’re off on Monday and The Mayor got a three day suspension. Sean Casey, not Tom Menino, although we should know if Tommy has our back if ever needed or we should at least have Casey show him how to throw a haymaker like that. Five members of the Devil Rays were suspended including wannabe WWE susperstar, Jonny Gomes.

Tonight or this evening, Tim Wakefield is called to the mound and hopefully the bats come alive in the second game of the series against Seattle. Also, if you got a hole burning in your pocket, in a matter of hours the 140th running of Belmont Stakes happen. Big Brown is trying to be the first horse in 30 years to win the Triple Crown.
