Terrese Edmonds Was Not on Her Cell Phone During T Crash
An investigation of cell-phone records shows that the Green Line operator who died in the recent MBTA crash was not on her cell phone at the time of the crash.
Some passengers reported that Edmonds was on her cell phone, but that may have been an assumption based on the behavior of other MBTA drivers and operators. For the record, this Bostonist has seen only one MBTA bus driver on a cell phone, but the bus was stuck in traffic, and it didn't look like the traffic was going anywhere anytime soon.
There is also no evidence that Edmonds was under the influence at the time of the crash, so what happens remains a mystery. She made a call a half hour before the crash, but it was only for a minute.
Edmonds' family is relieved that people don't think Edmonds would have done that and that she wasn't the type to chat and work at the same time. Her father would say she couldn't talk because she was driving.
