Stuff White People Like: Government Center Edition

News flash: white people like enjoying things ironically. This includes trucker hats, '80s "fashion," and even children's games played as adults. The now annoyingly infamous "Stuff White People Like" blog, which can (ironically?) list itself as something white people like way too much, recently featured Boston's own Government Center in an image of people playing children's games (specifically, Red Rover).
We don't know that we'd play Red Rover on a bunch of bricks--if you are foiled by the strong white arms of your opponents, the resulting fall could hurt. Playing on grass is a much better idea. One thing we would do in Government Center is eat free ice cream, but we've already taken care of that for this week. (Shock-a-Cone FTW! And, FYI, SWPL, white people like acronyms, too.)
Despite the city's predominant whiteness, Boston is surprisingly absent from many things that white people like. However, white people are into marathons, of which Boston has the best (IOHO), and we can also lay claim to one of those ivy league places. St. Patrick's Day is high on our list of official holidays, we live by the water, and we have our share of Whole Foods (though we can't lay claim to being its headquarters) and film festivals.
Have you played Red Rover at Government Center lately? How about kickball on Boston Common? And do you eschew or fancy the things that white people (supposedly) like?

Marathons? Surely you've noticed that Black people usually win them...

that's why white people also like having black friends (http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/01/21/14-having-black-friends/), so they can cheer them on in marathons!

Boston also has the old buildings US market cornered.
They just can’t get enough of old buildings or ultramodern buildings next to old buildings.
If you want to fit in with white people you need to learn about IM Pei, ....
Yep, that's Boston.

No, but I just saw a bunch of white college kids playing four-square in the middle of Pratt Street in Allston!
