Sports Redux: We Love A Parade

Leon PoweOK, Bruins. You're on notice.

After a bunch of Patriots parades, and a Red Sox rolling rally that seemingly everyone in New England came to (and then a second), the Celtics got to climb on the Duck Boats this morning (like Leon Powe, pictured) and roll from the TDBNGarden to Copley Square. (We were camped out in front of the Orpheum, snapping everything in sight.)

This is the highlight of the C's complete Life of Riley week. Kevin and Ray went to visit David Letterman last night. Any Celtic is more than welcome at Fenway over the weekend (the Sox are petitioning to wear green jerseys to salute their crosstown friends). And we have to mention two pieces we absolutely loved about Paul Pierce: one by Jackie MacMullan and one in a long meandering wonderful post-Game Six column by Bill Simmons. (The Pierce bit is Note 5, but read the whole thing.)

The C's' appearance at Fenway will be just the segue we need into baseball season, since apparently the Sox just played a whole series in Philadelphia and we had to scour the Internet to figure out what happened. They won two of three, Bartolo Colon got hurt, JD Drew went 14-for-11 to raise his June average to 1.765, and they host the Cardinals this weekend. Also, the All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium may feature up to five Sox starters, which makes us giddy.

We also watched a little golf (!) this week, saw Tiger Woods win a marathon of playoff rounds and extra holes and furious chases by lesser mortals. But now Tiger's going to take the rest of the year off to rest his wounded leg. Just when we were getting into it.

leon powe LOOKED RIGHT AT ME during the parade! and pointed at me too! he was probably just thinking, "what's that poseur doing here? she only came to one game all season!" but it was still cool.

the "where's kobe?" sign was great too.

Do Bill Plaschke, the LA Times, and Phil Jackson (The Then Master) think that because Tiger Woods played well in the U.S. Open he must be faking his injury?
