Sports Redux: Blame It On The Rain

It was back to business as usual last night at Fenway Park. The celebrated World Champion, Boston Celtics made an appearance last night, but unfortunately that winning spirit didn’t rub off on the hometown team, the the Red Sox lost to the Cardinals 5-4. To make matters worse, the weather Gods weren't on our side either which caused a delay of game.

Tim Wakefield pitched 7 innings last night and got tagged for 4 of the 5 runs, bringing Wakefield’s record to 4-5. Wakefield also gave up 2 home runs last night, while Okajima gave up a 3rd in the 8th. One highlight from last night was when Julio Lugo hit his first home run of the season. Although, it didn’t help that he committed two errors last night, raising his record to 16.

Mike Timlin was placed on the DL thanks to a case of tendonitis in his left knee, this made room for Dice-K, who’s coming back from his stint on the DL and starting today against the Cardinals. This also makes room for pitcher, Chris Smith, who probably would have been sent back to Pawtucket if this move wasn’t made.

The fans last night were "entertained" during the hour and 14 minute game delay thanks to Jonathan Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen. The two did their best Milli Vanilli impersonation to, ‘Blame It On The Rain’. Where's Gino when you need him?

I find that video to be absolutely amazing. We've needed something like that since the Millar Rally Time video had to be retired.

i still have a hard time sitting thru the millar video - but you gotta love it for the pure camp factor.

my only problem with the new one, is that manny doesn't seem that into it.
