-- We love a parade! Practice for Independence Day parades and show your appreciation for Portuguese culture by attending the Day of Portugal Parade. Part of the multi-month Boston Portuguese Festival, the parade starts in Portuguese Square (Concord Ave.) in Somerville at 2pm and progresses to the King Open School. (KS)

Lions, Menino, and Tai Chi

-- The annual Chinatown Main Street Festival features lion dancing, Chinese folk dancing, martial arts, tons of food, and Our Popular Mayor. Various locations, Chinatown, 11:00am-5:00pm. Free.

The MFA's New Door

-- The MFA just got a new point of entry. The State Street Fenway Entrance is on Fenway, not State Street. To celebrate the new ingress, admission is free today. Special installations, including exhibits dedicated to Winslow Homer and the European masters, and a gallery talk sweeten the deal. Museum of Fine Arts, 10:00am-4:45pm. Free.

B-Boy Stances

-- Once known as the B-Boy Olympics, the Beantown Break Down is Boston's fiercest breakdancing competition. Featuring performers from across the country, as well as slam poets and live DJs, it's your chance to see who can rock the hardest. Artists for Humanity, 100 West 2nd St., South Boston, 12:00pm. $10.
