Gatorade Update: Doc's Shirt Sells for $35k

We mentioned last week that Doc Rivers had put up his Gatorade-stained championship shirt for auction to raise money for charity. WBZ now reports that the shirt (signed by Doc and Finals MVP Paul Pierce) has sold for $35,000 to an anonymous bidder. What we didn't know previously is that the auction winner also gets the Gatorade bucket used in the soaking. That'll come in handy for future Gatoradings, we suppose.

Proceeds from the auction go to the Shamrock Foundation, a Celtics charity currently partnering with Perkins School for the Blind, Children's Hospital Boston, Horizons for Homeless Children and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) to provide services to children in need.

Update on the update: Bill Parcells was involved in the bidding, and Gatorade donated an additional $10,000 on top of the $35,000 auction total. You can even listen to some of the auction, including Parcells' bid!
