Boston Blotter: Entwistle Convicted
-- Neil Entwistle was convicted on two counts of first degree murder today. He shot his wife and 9-month-old daughter. The defense, and Entwistle's surviving family, maintain that he is innocent. The minimum sentence in Massachusetts for first degree murder is life imprisonment without parole. Luckily for the Herald and Globe, who can't seem to find any other juicy crime story, Entwistle's case will undergo an automatic review by the Supreme Judicial Court. [Globe]
-- A prisoner escaped Salem sheriff's deputies this morning, shackled. Miguel Angel Carabello, 27, faced home invasion and kidnapping charges. He escaped with the help of a female accomplice, driving a white Nissan, and remains at large. [Globe]

-- Somerville police conducted a massive warrant sweep yesterday morning, targeting 20 people wanted in connection with a variety of violent crime. Despite the scale of the operation, cops only netted three suspects. Nonetheless, police believe that the warrant sweep will curb the recent increase in gang and other violence that has plagued areas of the city. [Somerville Journal]
All charges alleged until proven under law.
