Boston Blotter: Convenience Store Bandits Nabbed

-- Two of four men suspected of robbing convenience stores in Jamaica Plain and Hyde Park two weeks ago were apprehended by police. [BPDNews]

-- Rodrick J. Taylor was convicted this morning of the 2006 strangling murder of Dominique Samuels, whose charred body was found in Franklin Park. Taylor will be sentenced on Monday. [Globe]

-- Police have joined with community groups in an effort to quash the gang beef that has been dropping bodies in Roxbury, Mattapan, and Jamaica Plain. Cops are stepping up patrols in known gang hotspots between 4:00pm and 4:00am. "We just need everyone to take a deep breath and realize that when you take out a gun and shoot it, a 7-year-old kid who’s out trying to enjoy the summer could be the unintended target," said Superintendant Daniel Linksey.
