Boston Blotter: 3 Dead in Bloody 4th

-- Early this morning, police found a man shot to death at the corner of Circuit Street and Walnut Ave., in Roxbury, near Washington Park. The victim was 20-years-old. No arrests have been made, and no motive has been advanced. He was Boston's third homicide in the past 24 hours and the 33rd of the year. [BPDNews]

-- A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed yesterday during a cookout in Hyde Park. He was shot in the head in what may have been a gang-related killing. [Globe]

-- A 40-year-old man was beaten to death in broad daylight yesterday morning near Faneuil Hall, amidst milling tourists and other witnesses. The man, who was reportedly drunk, was attacked by a group of assailants wielding a towel wrapped around a heavy object. [Globe]

-- Four people were shot early this morning by a group of gunmen outside of a Hyde Park convenience store, and, in an unrelated incident, one person was shot at Uphams Corner. All five victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. [Globe]

-- Boston police report that a woman was indecently assaulted on Foster Street early yesterday morning. The victim was able to escape her attacker after a brief scuffle. Police believe that the attack belongs to a series of sexual assaults reported in the North End. The attacker was described as a white male in his 20s with short hair. [BPDNews]
