Boston Blotter: Brighton Brothel Memoirs

Boston police are tackling online sex rings as a part of "Operation Rubout," an effort to wipe out prostitution in Allston and Brighton that began in 2005. The newest thing in the neighborhood? The emerging market in transexual encounters. There are some things you still can't get in the suburbs. [Herald]

-- A pair of East Boston thugs allegedly robbed a woman who had won $10 playing the Mass Lottery. [BPDNews]

-- Elsewhere, a pair of cheapskates were charged with armed robbery after allegedly lifting $3.70 off a hapless, and nearly penniless, South Ender. [BPDNews]

-- Three kids, a pair of 16-year-olds from Boston and a 15-year-old from Roslindale, were busted early this morning for an alleged robbery on the Boston Common. [BPDNews]

-- Boston police report that they are close to making an arrest in the murder of Roniel Marc, the 17-year-old Hyde Park boy who was shot to death during a July 4th cookout. [Herald]

All charges alleged until proven under law.
