Early research suggests that lung cancer rates increase the closer you get to Logan. Asthma and heart disease rates are also higher than the Massachusetts average in many communities near the airport, including Chelsea, Everett, Lynn, Revere, Everett, Hull, and Quincy. Massport executives indicate that they are using cleaner-burning buses in the area. A full state health investigation should be completed next year.
