Sunday Happenings
Bastille Day
-- Get an early jump on Bastille day in Cambridge today. Celebrate France's National Holiday all day long in Harvard Square, with a beer garden, waiters' race, and lots of live music. Harvard Square, 3-10pm, free. (KS)
Sleaze
-- Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School sounds like what it is: an opportunity to draw scantily clad burlesque performers who are posing for you. Past event pics show a sharp disparity between the attractiveness of models and sketchers. You can tip the scales by going or not going. Great Scott, 1222 Comm. Ave., Allston, 2:30pm. $7.
Funky Conservatory
-- Tower of Power Ensemble answers the question: Do Berklee kids fake the funk? Do you see anybody's nose growing? Berklee Performance Center, 136 Mass. Ave., 7:00pm. Free.
Cross-UnDressing
-- Traniwreck cross-dressing cabaret is like a trainwreck, but better dressed. The group brings us a belated Independence Day celebration at the Milky Way, 405 Centre Street, JP. 9:30pm, $8. (KS)
Weird Music
-- Semata Productions's Coup d'etat music series presents weird electronic music. The highlight is Brown Wing Overdrive, an NYC ensemble who shape twisted soundscapes with processed banjo, bizarre vocals, broken beatboxes, and smashed electronics. Playing with Neckhold and Boston's Ouest. Piano Craft Guild, 791 Tremont St., 9:00pm.
Music
-- Peter Walker displays impressive guitar work focused on flamenco. Nave Gallery, 155 Powderhouse Blvd, Somerville. 7:30pm, $10. (KS)
