Boston Blotter: Shootings Continue Despite Gang Crackdown
-- Boston police conducted a massive crackdown on the city's gangs, arresting nearly 50 suspected offenders on Friday. The sweep included the arrest of Caiheem C. Kindell, 18, of Brockton, who is suspected in connection with the Independence Day quadruple shooting in Hyde Park. [BPDNews]
-- Nevertheless, violence continued across the city. Within hours of the conclusion of the BPD sweep, a man was killed on Whittier Street in Roxbury, across the street from police headquarters. Kevin Lara, 18, was shot and killed early Saturday morning just outside of his Roxbury home. No motive for the killing has been advanced, and police have made no arrests. [Herald]
-- A man was found stabbed to death in his Everett home Sunday night. Phillip Capone, 47, was found dead after relatives requested a well-being check. No estimate has been advanced regarding the time of death, and there are no suspects in the case. [WBZTVM]
-- A man was shot early Saturday morning in Dorchester, at the intersection of Morton Street and Blue Hill Avenue. He made it to the emergency room at Carney Hospital under his own power and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. [Globe]
