Wind turbines are at the forefront of energy technologies that might liberate us from bubblin' crude, and the Museum of Science wants in. They have a plan to add nine turbines to the museum roof. However, the plan seems to be mostly for show, as the turbines would save only $3,000 a year. It seems as if their heart is in the right place, and the plan is safer than Mayor Menino's idea to install turbines at City Hall (blades plus concrete plus so many people=bad idea). However, we're still waiting for the set of turbines that will generate substatial energy. [Boston Globe]
