Massachusetts Natives Avoid Auf'ing

Season 5 of Project Runway premiered last night, with two Massachusets contestants. Great Barrington boy Daniel and Wesley from Blackstone both averted auf'ing to remain on the catwalk. From the Berkshires to Pratt to PR, Daniel looks to have had some fine life experiences. He once aspired to be a zoologist, but now uses animal and nature inspirations in his fashion designs. Wesley studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and interned with Marc Jacobs and Levi.

On last night's episode, the contestants had to make dresses from grocery store items. Wesley came up with an odd yellow floral number, and Daniel made something from blue plastic cups; both could have been worse, but also could've been much better. Our local boys escaped auf'ing thanks to Jerry from Montana, who was cut for his crazy lab coat / rubber gloves combo. We await more appealing designs next week.
