Sports Redux: So Long, James

posey.jpgGuess it was too much to expect for James Posey to be a Celtic for life. The C's didn't want to commit to a fourth year, the Hornets did, and Posey's on his way to New Orleans. We'll miss you, BGJ (Big Game James). You were a fantastic sixth man and a defensive killer, you sparked some of the most critical rallies of the playoffs, and you were an integral part of the soul of this year's team. Who's going to provide the pregame hug/pep talk for all the starters, is what we want to know. Scalabrine?

Steve Bulpett tries to figure out what Danny Ainge can do next, while ESPN's John Hollinger tries to make Celtics fans feel better about the move. He even plays the Dan Majerle card.

With the Sox headed for the West Coast, if you think going to minor league games this week is a good idea, forget it. David Ortiz is going to spend a few days in Pawtucket and a few days in Portland, and tickets are long long long gone. Try the Cape Cod League instead.

The Revolution won again in SuperLiga action in Foxboro, downing C.P.Pachuca 1-0 on a late penalty kick by Khano Smith. The Revs' Pat Phelan suffered a concussion, so don't be surprised if the team picture looks a lot like the scenes of the wounded in Gone With the Wind (for you kids, that's the scene parodied when the Simpsons survey the mangled bodies after they get the trampoline).

Finally in the world of sports, Brett Favre blah blah blah something whatever whatever who cares retirement lawsuit yak yak yak. We'll let you know if any of this ever concerns you.
