Boston Blotter: Shootings in Dorchester, Jamaica Plain

crime_scene_tape.jpg-- Late last night, Boston police found a man shot near Washington Street in Jamaica Plain. The 19-year-old was rushed to Brigham and Women's, where he remains in critical condition. No arrests have been made, and police have not suggested a motive in the shooting. [BPDNews]

-- Early this morning in Dorchester, a man nearly avoided a fatal shooting, police say. The victim, who was shot at the intersection of Torrey and Oakwood Streets, suffered a bullet graze to the head and was released from the hospital this morning. No arrests have been made. [BPDNews]

-- Boston and state police chased a woman through five miles of heavy traffic on I-93 yesterday, before stopping her and rescuing her passenger, a 41-year-old East Boston woman who had been screaming from the car windows for help. [Herald]

-- 56-year-old Timothy Stryker, a Stoneham internist, has been arrested in connection with the 1993 murder of his alleged girlfriend, Linda Goudey. Stryker faces charges that he paid a stranger, Craig Pizzano, to commit perjury in grand jury testimony. Stryker, who was found liable in a 2006 wrongful death suit brought by Goudey's family, has not been charged in her murder. [Herald]
