Boston Blotter: Shooting Spree in North End, Yarmouth Cop Kills a Motorist

-- A Yarmouth cop shot a driver to death early yesterday as he fled a traffic blockade, according to authorities. Andre Martin, a 25-year-old Brazilian immigrant was killed by officer Christopher Van Ness. Martin, who leaves behind two children, had allegedly been driving faster than 80 miles per hour when police tried to stop his car. Authorities say that he had been smoking marijuana, but no weapon was found in his car. [Globe; Herald]
