Boston Blotter: Fatal Stabbing, Shooting in Roxbury

033107_body_outline.jpg-- A man in his 30s was stabbed to death yesterday afternoon in Roxbury during a scuffle. Based on witness statements, police arrested David Copeland, 29, of Roxbury, who was arraigned on murder charges today. [BPDNews; Globe]

-- In an unrelated incident, a man was shot early this morning in Roxbury. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police pursued a suspect on foot, who eluded them. [BPDNews]

-- A gruesome sequence of events in Lynn has resulted in a death, an Amber Alert, and a statewide manhunt for Rodlyn Petitbois, 25. Authorities say Petitbois stabbed Greenland Etienne, 33, in the face, killing her, before fleeing with his four children and estranged wife, held captive. When she was stabbed, Etienne had been calling 911 to report an allegedly drunk and rampaging Petitbois, who may have stabbed his wife in the hand. [Herald; Globe]

-- Barnstable police found what amounts to an arsenal at a Cape Cod home. Kenneth Webster faces numerous charges relating to more than 50 possibly illegal firearms, bayonets, throwing knives, and an inert bomb. [Herald]

-- Closer to home, a homeless man in Central Square was found with a pair of high-powered assault rifles stashed in a trash bag, according to authorities. The man, who faces numerous charges related to the incident, said he found the weapons in the trash. [Cambridge Chronicle]

-- An alleged groper shut down the Red Line for half an hour during rush hour yesterday. No arrests have been made. [Cambridge Chronicle]
