Restaurant Week Pick: Tangierino
[83 Main Street, Charlestown; 617-242-6009; Dinner only.]
This Middle Eastern oasis in Charlestown has garnered a cult following for their savory Moroccan food, savvy wine list, hookah lounge and nightly belly-dancing performances. Now chef/owner Samad Naamad is currently expanding the space by 3,000 feet with an entertainment complex he’s calling Koullshi, which will include the “medieval-inspired” Moulay Bar, with a private underground humidor for cigars, and a champagne bar called the Moushrabia room, where the hookah and bellydancer fun will continue into the wee hours. In the old Tangierino space, the bar area will be replaced by the “Sultan’s Tents," a dining area where guests will be served in private tents, and the Casbah Lounge will be replaced by the Marrakech Salon, a private dining area for 70 with authentic Moroccan art and hand-carved furniture. Stop in for this Restaurant Week to see Tangierino in transition. Relive your favorite memories from wine-soaked special occasions past and start making new memories.
