Revenge of the Pink Hats

-- Tired of decades of condescension from men, the female fans of Fenway have decided that they can talk about Jason Bay's VORP amongst themselves. It's GirlSoxNation, a new social networking site, and it's hosting a GirlSox Fan night, featuring a signature drink: the Pink Hat Martini. The Garden, 22 Friend St., 6:00pm. Free.

Revenge of the Pink Tag Artists

-- On the other side of town, female urban artists band together for Paint Pens in Purses, an all-female art show. Expect illustration from Heather McGrath, illy L., Kim Harris, Lichiban, Morgan Thomas, Nineta, and Shayna Shenanigans. Via Matta, 79 Park Plaza, 7:00pm. Free.

Opera

-- Boston Lyric Opera presents a medley of highlights from the upcoming 2008-2009 season. Expect to hear excerpts from Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Dvoák's Rusalka, and Mozart's Don Giovanni. Bring the kids. Hatch Shell, Esplanade, 7:00pm. Free.

This just in from Boston Lyric Opera: tonight's concert is being relocated from the Hatch Shell to the Church of the Covenant at 67 Newbury Street, Boston (corner of Newbury and Berkeley Streets)

T accessible or park at:
- The Boston Common Garage (entrance on Charles St.)
- The Back Bay Garage (Clarendon St. between Boylston and St. James)
- Limited street parking in the area
