Thursday Happenings

all-about-my-mother.jpgMovies

-- The Brattle screens Pedro Almodovar's All About My Mother, wherein organ transplants and a transsexual prostitute collide with a nun--played by Penelope Cruz. Not to be missed. Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle Street, Cambridge; 3, 5, and 7 pm. (KS)

Movie Trivia

-- If you are the type of person who spends nights sorting Billy Wilder's comedies from his dramas—by year—or if you have the AFI top 100 films list memorized, you might have waited your entire life for this moment. The Brattle Theatre presents a movie trivia night, hosted by Trish the Dish and Bostonist's old friend John Serpico. It's a benefit for the theatre, so don't be shy about paying the cover. Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St., Cambridge, 9:00pm. $6. More information and RSVP here.

Bowling

-- It's the 10th anniversary of The Big Lebowski (does that make you feel old?). Celebrate with a little bit of FREE bowling at Kings in Back Bay. There will also be a costume contest with prizes: dress as the Dude, as Maude, as Bunny, as Walter, as a bowling pin--your options are nearly limitless. Make sure to LOL a little, too. RSVP to Meghan at mharrell@lyonsgroup.com. 50 Dalton Street, 9pm. (KS)

Hair

-- Poison, Dokken, and Sebastian Bach give us something to believe in. Bank of America Pavilion, 290 Northern Ave., 7:00pm. $25-$35.
