We've been scolded in the past for making jokes about how shady Worcester is. But, thanks to the tree-devouring Asian Longhorned Beetle, the Paris of the 80s is about to have a lot less shade. The Globe reports that the dreaded beetle was found on as many as 15 Worcester trees, the fourth known infestation in the U.S. The only way to eradicate the insect is to destroy infested trees.

Yeah, this is really too bad. There have been a few other infestations in the past. Its important to make sure you're not brining home any unwelcome guests on international flights.
PS: new restaurant in Worcester. The Abbey, on Main Street, a few blocks down from the court house. All local, fresh ingredients comprised to make cheese plates, salads, sandwiches, and the best pizza in the city. Not to mention the 200+ bottles of beer from all over the world. Same owner as The Dive Bar on Green Street. Cheers
