Sports Redux: Buehrle Beats Boston

redsoxlogo.JPGFor lack of a better term, Jon Lester has been the ace of the pitching staff this year. But last night Mark Buehrle and the Chicago White Sox, showed Lester and everyone else how it’s done. Buehrle’s performance helped lead the White Sox over the Red Sox 5 – 3.

Buehrle gave up one run on four hits and he struck out eight, during his seven innings of work last night. Jon Lester also went seven innings last night, but got tagged for four runs off of six hits and struck out two. Manny Delcarmen pitched the eighth inning, struck out two, walked no one, but gave up a home run to Carlos Quentin.

Dustin Pedroia scored all three runs for the Red Sox last night. Thanks to a homerun given up by Octavio Dotel. Sox third baseman did nothing last night when he was at the plate, he’s now up to 15 games without a hit and is batting .171. Tonight, Dice K is sent to the mound against Jose Contreras.

The United States was leading the medal count early this morning, with three (one gold, one silver, one bronze). If you’re up like us right now at 9:00 am, you can watch (along with GW, Carmelo Anthony and King James) the US Women’s Basketball, they’re playing the Czech Republic.
