The New York Times reports that soul superstar Isaac Hayes is dead. The composer of the theme from Shaft and other classic tunes was found unresponsive at home and transported to a hospital in Memphis. The cause of death is not yet known.

Very sad to hear. Isaac Hayes was an enormously talented (and funny) guy.
One wonders how much his participating in Scientology's un-scientific and unhealthy treatment methods expedited his passing.
