Bostonist: Dane Cook Loves His Movie; Movie Poster, Not So Much

Dane Cook is the worse thing to ever happen to the comedy industry, and I say that knowing that acts such as Carrot Top and Joyce Behar still exist in this world. I never knew much about him, but then I *tried* to watch a bit of his stand up act, set in an arena filled with laughing fans. I just didn't get it. He wasn't funny. He strikes me as one of these "golden boys" I call them--those boys so loved and adored by their mommas growing up who teach them they're perfect, when, in fact, they're not. He's cute, I'll say that, but I wish he'd just be quiet. Maybe he would be funny mime.

I don't think he's funny at all and don't plan to see his movies. But since I've seen stories about his myspace rant about the poster in at least three blogs and a news outlet in the last 24 hours alone, I'd say he's pretty good at getting publicity for his films.

I find him funny, guess I'm in the minority. His early comedy was especially good.
