Muy Cansado sound anything but tired. Sure, the band's sound hearkens back to the alternative grooves of Dinosaur Jr. and The Lemonheads, but offers a fresh new twist. The band has, apparently, been compared to the Pixies, David Bowie, and the Talking Heads, which is quite a grandiose collection. Formed when two members met at UMass Lowell, the band tossed out an EP early this year and is finally coming out with a debut full-length. We like Muy Cansado's laid-back grooves, emotive vocals, and most of all its genuine spirit. Here's the band's mantra from its website:

Haircuts, Clothing, Kids, or Causes,
Cars (fancy or fuel efficient),
Bleeding hearts or Love-torn eyes,
Peace of mind, Heartbreaks, Spititual rejuvenation,
Self-righteous self-hatred,
We don't care about it.
We make music.

Sounds like exactly what a band should do. Our only question is: whose garters?
