-- The Coolidge hosts its annual The Big Lebowski (1998) bowling party. Prizes for best Dudes, Jesuses, and nihilists. Bowling is supposedly part of of the package, but the Coolidge's notoriously cryptic website does not clarify. Have they built in alley in the cinema? We're guessing that it's bowling of the Wii variety, but don't hold us to it. Coolidge Corner Theatre, 290 Harvard St., Brookline, 7 p.m. $9/$6.
Dancing Hipsters
-- San Francisco duo Eat Tapes makes spastic electronic dance music that sounds like the soundtrack to Mario and Luigi's Mega Man fetish night. Part of the Beat Research series. Enormous Room, 567 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 9 p.m. Free.

-- The Middle East brings bands from all over Massachusetts to Central Square for a Darfur fundraiser. Indie rock categories from drone to math rock are each well represented. Featuring Forest Henderson, Palacios, ITtheverb, and the Spotlight Crisis. Middle East Upstairs, 9 p.m. $8.

actually went there last night and asked about what bowling meant for them, and the girl at the desk couldn't provide much help. she seemed to suggest it would be wii bowling, but was unsure. bowling down the aisles of the theater would be pretty awesome though.
My guess is plastic balls-and-pins bowling, but we'll see tonight...
