Thursday Happenings

-- Louis DiBiccari doesn't go by "Iron Chef Louie" anymore, but, after a year-and a-half-long hiatus, his dinner party is back. Chef Louie Night lets diners choose the ingredients (by internet poll) and challenges DiBiccari and accomplices to purchase ingredients, develop a menu, and prepare a buffet dinner in a single work day. Joshua Tree, 1316 Comm. Ave., Brighton, 7 p.m. $20, online reservation required.

Transportation Reform and Beer

-- LiveableStreets makes its wonky transportation reform lectures go down more easily with free Harpoon Brewery beer. The series is StreetTALK; the topic is sustainable civil engineering; and the guest is Gary Toth, from the Project for Public Spaces. LiveableStreets, 100 Sidney St., Cambridge, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Free.

Street Art on the Wall

-- All of Bostonist's favorite street artists contributed to Paint it Now, a gallery showcase featuring individual work and a "collaborative two-wall installation." True to the project's street art roots, there is an open invitation to paint over everything on display; no two visits to the show are likely to be the same. Featuring work by Thomas Buildmore, Kenji Nakayama, Morgan Thomas, Hargo, Noir, Evoker, Alphabet Soup, and Dark Clouds. Through October 2. The Distillery, 516 East Second St., South Boston, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Free.

The Elements

-- Hella Juice is a long running hip hop night that offers classic jams, turntablism, b-boys, and even visual art. Featuring DJ Leanski, DJ Neebor, and Mayan Tamang. Milky Way Lounge, 403 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, 9 p.m. Free.
