Somebody at Wellesley College's Davis Museum and Cultural Center struck a blow against modernism by throwing a $2.8 million Fernand Leger cubist masterpiece out with the trash. A revanchist coup on the part of Classical realists? Or an aesthetic radical's attempt to épater le bourgeois? The world may never know.
