Boston Blotter: Three Shootings Leave Five Hospitalized

102207-party-police.jpg-- This morning, a 17-year-old was shot outside of the Ashmont MBTA station in Dorchester, which capped a series of three shootings in which five were injured. Police say that this shooting, and the others, was not random. [BPDNews]

-- The second shooting happened last night in Mattapan when a 19-year-old was shot in the chest while riding his bike. Relatives say that the victim, identified as Chris Pounds, had been on a mission to rescue his sister's Sidekick from thugs who had robbed her earlier in the evening. He was shot twice with a rifle for his efforts and taken to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. [BPDNews; Herald]

-- Three men were shot on Nazing street in Roxbury last night. The victims, ages 18, 20 and 27, were all black males who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe that the assailant fled in a dark colored Honda, but no motive has been advanced and no arrests have been made.
