Wikispeak
-- Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, speaks on "Free Speech, Free Minds, Free Markets: Competition and Collaboration" as part of the Ford Hall Forum. The talk will be followed by discussion. C. Walsh Theatre, Suffolk University, 55 Temple Street, 6:30pm. Free. (KS)
Jazz
-- It's the final installment of Harborwalk Sounds, the ICA's summer series featuring Berklee musicians on the museum's harborside patio. Tonight, Katie Thiroux, a bassist and vocalist with a list of commendations as long as your arm, plays in a trio. Museum admission is free, too. Institute for Contemporary Art, South Boston, 8:30 p.m. Free.
Freakouts
-- Somerville homeboy Steve Brodsky makes the sort of music that makes you worry about how well he has been socialized. Between waves of drones and feeback, Brodsky belts out repetitive lyrics about lima beans, Prospect Hill, and rainbows. His eerie pop brings to mind past masters of psychedelia Syd Barrett, Bevis Frond, and Brother JT. Middle East Upstairs, 472 Mass. Ave., Cambridge, 9 p.m. $9.
