International Poster Gallery (205 Newbury Street)
Opens today, September 15, runs through November 15

The International Poster Gallery is opening a new display today of 1920s posters designed to improve morale and productivity of American workers. Known as the Mather Work Incentive Posters because they were printed by Charles Mather of Chicago, these images feature slick slogans like "better ways benefit all," "everybody likes the snappy worker," and "no job's done till it's ALL done." With the state of the stock market leaving us quaking in our boots, we could all use a pick-me-up. Check out these posters at the IPG for a laugh and maybe even a little inspiration.

In addition to hosting poster shows, the IPG also boasts "the largest, most comprehensive online collection of vintage advertising posters in the world," with over 4000 images. Search 'em if you're in need of a poster.
