Boston Blotter: Boy Shot Dead in Jamaica Plain

033107_body_outline.jpg-- A 17-year-old boy was shot dead last night on Parker St. in Jamaica Plain. The shooting happened around 9:13 p.m. and was detected by police in the area, who spotted a man fleeing the scene. Minutes later, on Notre Dame St. in Roxbury, police arrested a 19-year-old Dorchester man, whom they suspect as being the fugitive. The man was charged on marijuana possession and guns charges but does not yet face charges in connection with the shooting. [BPDNews]

-- Peabody police shot a man in the stomach yesterday while responding to a domestic violence call. Phillip Noto Sr., 55, was in alleged violation of a restraining order when police arrived to aid his wife. Noto pulled a gun, was shot, and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities say. He stands charged with ssault with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest and violating a restraining order. [Herald]

-- Ryan Surprenant, the 27-year-old who was hospitalized after a Sunday morning car accident with an allegedly drunken jake, was himself plastered, according to authorities. When you add drunk driver to drunk driver, the result is never a pleasant sight. Suprenant is expected to survive his injuries. [Herald]
