Thursday Happenings

ica-goldenstash.jpgNew Music

-- Firebird Ensemble, a new music group whose members are as likely to be found on Tzadik Records as they are to be spotted at Jordan Hall, starts off the Ditson Festival of Contemporary Music, which occupies the Institute for Contemporary Art all weekend. ICA, 100 Northern Ave., 6:30 pm. $10-$15. (CF)

Very Superior Old Pales

-- What's our motto? Hennessy. This hip hop-flavored Hennessy tasting is called "the art of mixing." Like, mixing music, as well as drinks. Pick the tunes you want to hear when you RSVP. 7pm, Breezeway (153 Blue Hill Ave, Roxbury), free with RSVP. (KS)

Kegels

-- It's unlimited champagne, chocolate, and sex ed at Sex, Chocolate and Your Pelvic Floor, a benefit co-sponsored by Good Vibrations and the Women's Health Foundation. Participants will learn to strengthen their pelvis "from the inside out," and this Bostonist has a feeling that he's not invited. Finale Desserterie, 1306 Beacon St., Brookline, 7 p.m. $50.

My Best Friend

-- Werner Herzog picked his "best friend" Klaus Kinski to reprise Max Schreck's Nosferatu, and Bostonist finds it kind of nasty-hot. Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) caps the CineScare outdoor screening series. The Video Underground, 385 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, 7:30 p.m. $5.
