Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet & Society is one of the more interesting tech institutions in town (of course, that "MIT" place has a thing or two going for it as well). Tonight, the Center celebrates the release of a new book, Born Digital: Understanding the First Generation of Digital Natives, by John Palfrey and Urs Gasser. The book is part of the Center's Born Digital project, and explores issues ranging from privacy to creativity to online gaming to identity. In an age of avatars and status updates, how are young people "born digital" (after 1980) being shaped differently from previous generations? Tonight's talk promises to be a fascinating preview of an important and relevant book. Check it out--if you have time in between twitters and text messages.
