Sunday Happenings
Stuff to Buy
-- Baked Fresh, which is held at the South End Open Market, is like the spunky kid sister to the artists' stalls that usually occupy the space. Expect to pick up arts and crafts from local DIY types and to hear music from the likes of Emily Elbert, Tripl3 Crown, Adam Payne, and the Sterns. Hosted by DJ Red Foxx. South End Open Market, 540 Harrison, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free.
Burlessons
-- The Boston Babydolls want you to seize your inner stripper and present her to the world. The admission to today's burlesque class includes a feather boa, but you may have to bring your own pasties. Boston Babydolls Studio, 37 Billings Rd., Quincy. 2 p.m. $49.
Women in Prison (WiP)
-- Few genres have truly earned the label "exploitation" in the way that Women in Prison films have. Whether you're catching Sweet Sugar (1973) for the first time or rewatching Chained Heat (1983) for the fifteenth, you will find yourself trying to square your feminist politics with your raging appreciation for female enslavement. Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St., Cambridge, 7:30 (double feature). $9.50.
Animal Faith
-- How is your companion animal's relationship with its god? If you need some insurance that you will meet your dog, ferret, or anaconda in whatever mystical sky palace you believe awaits the faithful departed, now's your chance to buy in. It's the interfaith Blessing of the Animals, and apparently a photo of Fido is an acceptable proxy. Old North Church, 193 Salem St., North End. 3 p.m. Free.
