Octoberfests, Redux

-- The Hub's schedule of Octoberfests has been like the Boston Marathon for your liver. And it's not over. Harvard Square throws its own harvest celebration today. Featuring six stages for live performers, more than 30 food and beverage vendors, hundreds of artisans, and the raucous marching bands from the Davis Square HONK! Festival. Various locations, Harvard Square, Cambridge, Noon to 6 p.m. Free.

Krautrock for the Gentle

-- The Notwist play the kind soothing indie rock that the kids like these days. Think the Postal Service with the suffix "-wurst." The Roxy, 279 Tremont St., 8 p.m. $18.

Psychedelic Music for the Gentle

-- The Elephant 6 collective had its heyday in the late nineties and its finest moment in Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea (1998). Neutral Milk Hotel's frontman Jeff Mangum hasn't left reclusion, but his pals from bands like Elf Power, Olivia Tremor Control, and the Music Tapes have taken the Elephant 6 legacy on the road. Blue Eyed Soul

-- Jamie Lidell, who has a voice the puts him somewhere between Al Green and John Fogarty, performs neo-soul music that is as traditional as it is not nostalgic. With Janelle Monae. Paradise Rock Club, 967 Comm. Ave., 8:00pm. $20.
