Sunday Happenings

fort-point-channel.jpgOpen Studios

-- If you just woke up from a 20-year-long nap the news is that artists live in South Boston these days. The Fort Point Open Studios is a rare opportunity to see work by all of them, spread throughout more than 200 studios. Print out the Google map cooked up by That Hottness, hop on the Red Line, and check it out. Various locations, South Boston, 11 a.m to 6 p.m. Free.

Anachronisms

-- It's the last chance to check out King Richard's Faire for the season. The pretend 16th century English village will pack up for the fall tomorrow, so get your turkey legs, lutes, and LARPing done today. King Richard's Faire, 235 Main St., Carver. $25/$12.

Hacks

-- The MIT swapfest will also begin its hibernation tomorrow. It's your last chance to check out cheap and hacked electronics, video games, and radio equipment until next April. MIT Albany St. Garage, Cambridge, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. $5.

Belly Dance

-- We're certain that a segment of Bostonist's readership will drool at the mere mention of gothic belly dance. Raks Spooki III will combine belly dance with the dark New England unconscious for a performance that will be titillating and extremely nerdy at once. Proceeds benefit Women to Women, a charity that helps women in parts of the world stricken by war and poverty. Regent Theatre, 7 Medford St., Arlington, noon. $12 donation.

Hip Hop

-- Flagstaff-via-NYC rapper Sole was a founding member of the Anticon crew, an outsider rapper with a penchant for the trippy. With the Skyrider Band, he explores the intersection of garage psychedelia and rap music. Performing with Shortrock & Scroll and Mister Salty. Middle East Upstairs, 9 p.m. $12.

Sound Art

-- It's another Non-Event sound art showcase, this time featuring Alessandro Bosetti, Byron Westbrook, and Area C. AXIOM Gallery, 141 Green St., Jamaica Plain, 8 p.m. $7. More information
