Sunday Happenings

Afrobeat

-- The Boston Afrobeat Society may have decamped to Brooklyn and changed its name to "The Superpowers," but if John Mayer is perpetually a Boston musician for the purposes of polling, we suppose that those guys can be, too. Tonight, they launch Somerville's newest, and possibly only, Afrobeat series. Johnny D's Uptown, 17 Holland St., Davis Square, Somerville.

Two Headed Cows

-- You may know North Carolina's Dexter Romweber as the leader of nineties rockabilly outfit Flat Duo Jets. Performing as a duo with his sister Sara (she plays drums), Romweber brings a throaty howl and the Piedmont blues to Somerville tonight. Abbey Lounge, 3 Beacon St., Somerville.

Sins

-- It's a night of exhibitionism. Burlesque dancing meets French can-can as Boston Babydolls and Can Can Revolution bring an evening of sin to a Church. Poludaktulos Orchestra also performs. Church of Boston, 69 Kilmarnock St., 8 p.m. $13.

Sexy Pumpkins

-- Bostonist loves Sex and Drugs Trivia on any given Sunday, but tonight's installment might just be off the chain. It's a Halloween theme, which would be extra kinky in its own right, but when you consider the sexy pumpkin carving and free pitchers of Rapscallian beer on offer, the event promises to be a dirty, dirty mess. The Savant Project, 1625 Tremont St., Roxbury Crossing, 7:30 p.m. Free.

Dance

-- Abraham Lincoln is the specter behind the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company's "Another Evening: Serenade/The Proposition." Featuring video art by Janet Wong and music from electric cellist Chris Lancaster, pianist Jerome Begin, and soprano Lisa Komara, it's part of the dance company's 25th anniversary. Learn why Lincoln is still America's favorite depressive medical oddity. Institute of Contemporary Art, 8 p.m. $50/$40.
